Love & War?

Love and War, War and Love, the love of war, the wars of loves, the lovers, the warriors, the battles of the sexes, sexy battles...

Follows is some background material on Love & War throughout history, that might help in succeeding in the "Quest for a Happy Ending" or might be illuminating in some manner...

Romeo & Juliet, unquestionably the most well known "historical" love story in our time, was probably penned by English poet and playwright William Shakespeare sometime in the 1590s. Bill probably got his story from the poem "The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet" which was written by Arthur Brooke in the 1560s, but he probably got his poem's material from a translation of a novella written by the Italian Matteo Bandello. The theme, of two unfortunate lovers from families that despise each other and attempt to prevent the couple's love, and ending in their suicides, is fairly cut from the Roman story of Pyramus and Thisbe.

...more to come...
