Redwood- Daily Schedule:
8:00-9:00: School Begins
Wash Hands, say goodbyes with parents.
8-9:30: Activities and Exploration
Our activities and exploration includes using both our inside and outside environment. We include lots of fine motor activities such as: play dough made with the children, beading, constructing two and three dimensional creations from the children's imagination with our open art resources, plenty of rotating items and textures to explore in our sensory tubs and more. We also have many opportunities for large motor development by providing spaces and structures where the children can run, climb, jump, balance and build. We love to offer open ended props such as large blocks, logs, ropes, and items from nature for the children to explore.
9:30-9:45: Clean Up
We do a group clean up time where everyone is encouraged to help. We also encourage cleaning/putting away as we go!
9:45-10: Circle Time
This is a wonderful time to come together in community. We incorporate music and movement- and enjoy visits from our music teacher every other week on top of that. We read some amazing books from our diverse classroom library. All circle time activities are planned with the children's developmental ages and stages in mind, while also incorporating aspects of our ever changing curriculum.
10:00-10:15: Potty Break and Hand Washing
10:15-10:45: Snack Time
The children often help in making our snack for the day. We love to harvest produce grown in our garden and use it in our cooking and baking dishes when available. Children utilize science concepts, language and cooperation skills and advance their palate as they follow recipes, measure and mix, and work together to create delicious meals. We love to encourage trying new flavors, but the compost bucket is never far away if they don't care for it!
10:45-11:45: Activities and Exploration (go outside if not outside already!)
11:45-12pm: Clean Up and Circle Time
