Role of Parents

TPS Band Tour is a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all our children so thank you for your support.

Parental participation in the Band Tour includes help with setting up equipment, directing children, dining room assistance, recreation activities and general supervisory roles. 

The Band Tour also requires parents who are prepared to stay overnight for a successful and safe tour.

Please remember to bring 

• your own lunch/snacks. Parents staying overnight will receive catered dinner and breakfast.

• your own sleeping bag, sheet and pillow. 

Here are some points to keep in mind as you take responsibility of the children during the tour:

• The children are in your care 

• Please do a headcount regularly and ensure that you are within eyesight of them at all times.

• During recreation time, please enforce common-sense playground rules, e.g. no stick fighting, fair play, no out-of-bounds.

• Please ensure that the children are drinking plenty of water, wearing hats if they are outside and have sunscreen (supplied by the children) applied.

• Please ensure that children visit the toilet with a buddy, not alone (they can go in groups of more than two!), and that you are not alone with any child (for child protection reasons).

• Provide assistance to the children, where required, when transporting instruments.

• You will be sharing your responsibilities with other parents, so please ensure you are not alone with any child at any time.
