Ryuji Shioya, a Professor at Toyo University’s Faculty of Information Sciences and Arts, Wins the Kawai Medal

総合情報学部 塩谷教授が川井メダルを受賞しました

On Friday, May 19, 2017, at the general assembly meeting of the Japan Society for Computational Engineering and Science (JSCES)—which was held at the University of Tokyo—Ryuji Shioya, a researcher at Toyo University’s Center for Computational Mechanics Research and a professor at the University’s Department of Information Sciences and Arts of the Faculty of Information Sciences and Arts, received the Kawai Medal from JSCES for his achievements including the following: 1) contributing to the administration of the Society, 2) serving as a member of the Society’s organizing committee, and 3) continuingly stimulating both the development of the General-purpose Parallel Finite Element Analysis System and its presentation to the public.

2017年5月19日(金)、東京大学にて日本計算工学会総会が開催され、当センター研究員で,総合情報学部総合情報学科塩谷隆二教授が日本計算工学会川井メダルを受賞した。受賞理由は継続的に最先端のスーパーコンピュータを利用した汎用並列有限要素法システムの開発及び公開に寄与し、同学会での理事を務めるなど、学会運営への貢献である。
