You are expected to follow the rules and expectations presented in your student handbook. All rules and expectations found in your handbook apply to you during class time unless otherwise stated by your teacher.
Food/Beverage
No food, candy, gums, or beverages (except for water) are allowed. The classrooms have expensive and specialized equipment that can be easily damaged by accidents. There are also bacteria and other substances that will be used in this class.
Following Directions
For safety purposes, all students are expected to follow safety protocols, follow instructor directions, and refrain from horseplay.
Science Laboratory
Proper safety protections such as gloves, laboratory goggles, and a laboratory coat must be used at all times.
Computer Use
Many assignments will require the use of the provided computers. Inappropriate use of the computers, or if a student is frequently off task due to computer usage, their computer privileges will be limited or taken away completely.
Lab Equipment
Laboratory equipment is fragile. Some equipment is designed to be used and discarded. However other equipment is designed to be washed and reused for future classes. Remember that accidents due occur, however if you break or damage any laboratory equipment through misuse or horseplay you will be charged with replacing it. Remember that laboratory equipment can get quite expensive. Always be careful when you are using it and always observe correct lab procedures.
Additional classroom rules and expectations will be presented by your teacher during the course of the class. Classroom rules and expectations change and evolve to accommodate changes in classroom dynamics. It is your responsibility to keep informed.
