Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Career and Technical Education is of the highest priority at Toppenish High School.

Our CTE programs prepare young adults for post-secondary education college programs and careers in the 21st Century.

21st Century Skills refers to a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits that are critically important to success in today’s world, particularly in collegiate programs, contemporary careers, and in every workplace.

Today's student is the future workforce of tomorrow. These 21st Century Skills support and can be applied in all academic subject areas, and in all educational, career, and civic settings throughout one’s life.




Excellence in Education

APPLY TECHNOLOGY EFFECTIVELY

  • Use technology as a tool to research, organize, evaluate and communicate information

  • Use digital technologies (computers, PDAs, media players, GPS, etc.), communication/networking tools and social networks appropriately to access, manage, integrate, evaluate and create information to successfully function in a knowledge economy

  • Apply a fundamental understanding of the ethical/legal issues surrounding the access and use of information technologies

BE SELF-DIRECTED LEARNERS

  • Go beyond basic mastery of skills and/or curriculum to explore and expand one’s own learning and opportunities to gain expertise
