The major focus of Engineering 2 is to give students opportunity to continually develop their interpersonal skills, team work skills, problem-solving skills, creative abilities and understanding of the design process. It also allows students to develop strategies to enable and direct their own learning. Engineering 2 offers students hands-on engineering projects involving mechanisms, thermodynamics, fluid systems, electrical systems, and kinematics. Students will also learn how to document their work, and communicate their solutions to their peers and members of the professional community. The course is rigorous and requires time and organization even for the above average student. To successfully complete this course; students must earn a 70 – 100%. The teacher approval is based on a placement test, previous grade, and/or teacher recommendations.
