IMC is committed to providing and maintaining a healthy, friendly, collaborative environment for all students. You can find assistance via the Student Support team, online resources, workshops and professional bodies.
IMC strives to meet its duty of care to staff, students and visitors by providing a safe and healthy work and study environment. The Institute is continually making improvements and putting systems in place to ensure its employees and students are met with a safe working environment. If you see any hazards from equipment to facilities, please report this to the Facilities Manager at (02) 9209 4888 (Sydney Campus) or (03) 6200 8709 (Hobart Campus) or (08) 6386 9325 (Perth Campus).
It is expected that students and employees of IMC conduct themselves in a safe and healthy manner at all times to ensure the occurrence of any form of injury, damage or unsafe condition is either minimised or prevented.
In the case of a fire, students are to make their way to the nearest exit by locating and reviewing details provided on the Evacuation sign. Students should safely meet outside the meeting zone for an attendance check. The appointed Fire Warden’s instructions are to be followed at all times throughout the evacuation process.
IMC acknowledges the health risks associated with smoking. Accordingly, smoking is strictly prohibited within the premises of the Institute. If students wish to smoke, they must leave the premises and practice acts of consideration for others by locating themselves at least 10 meters from any entrance into IMC. Students and employees of IMC share the responsibility of making this ban known to fellow students and employees.
At IMC, we aim to provide students with a safe, healthy and friendly environment. Being aware of potential dangers and risks while travelling in and around your local city is always important. While Australia is generally a safe place to live and study, it is still important that students take proper precautions to reduce the chance of an incident occurring. This is particularly critical upon arrival and during your adjustment period.
It is important for you to know that you are not alone in dealing with the pressures you may face as part of your studies. We organize a wide range of student social activities to build and foster a peer-friendly network. All members of the IMC team are willing to offer guidance and support if required. Our teams have an open-door policy and are willing to talk to you about any matters you may be facing.
