Once you have completed all your units of study, IMC will assess your eligibility for completion based on the following criteria:
That you have satisfied all academic requirements for your award(s) upon results release in the current term; and
That you have fulfilled all obligations with IMC, including files, fees, fines, and Unique Student Identifier, etc.
After the above has been reviewed and approved, your status will be updated in our system to indicate that you have completed all academic requirements.
Please note that you will be formally recognised as a graduate from IMC only after the award has been conferred by the Academic Board.
Once confirmed, your Completion Letter will be emailed to your student's email address within 10-15 business days. This letter is a notification of your completion. Only an electronic copy of the Completion Letter will be provided; no hard copy will be issued.
If you have not received your completion letter within 15 business days from qualifying, please email myrecords@imc.edu.au. The Completion Letter is not an invitation to the graduation ceremony. Please wait for the graduation invitation, which will provide details about the ceremony and instructions for RSVP.
Your Academic Transcript is an official document listing the units you have completed within your degree. This document can be requested via myrecords@imc.edu.au after results are released. Please provide your name, the course you completed, and your student ID when requesting your transcript. Typically, it takes 2-3 business days to receive a soft copy of your transcript; however, if you request a hard copy, please account for additional postal delivery time.
There is no charge for requesting one copy of your academic transcript upon course completion (unless you have already received an academic transcript at no charge). However, you will need to pay for postage if applicable. For other situations regarding academic transcript requests, please refer to the Fees page for detailed costs.
After each term, a list of students who are eligible to be awarded a qualification and graduate will be approved.
Currently, IMC holds one ceremony in Sydney each year in August. Students who are approved to graduate after April will need to wait until the following year to attend the Graduation ceremony. Use the following chart for more information.
Graduates will receive an email inviting them to attend the graduation ceremony. This email will contain a registration link for students to paid and register their spot.
Graduates are advised to complete their registration as soon as it is released, as spaces are limited, and your attendance is not secured for graduation until you have registered and paid your registration fee.
What if I can’t make the Graduation Ceremony?
Students can defer their graduation if they are unable to make the date that has been set. Students have up to 5 years to attend a Graduation Ceremony.
Students are not required to attend a graduation ceremony and can be awarded their Graduation certificate in absentia.
Upon conferral students can request for:
· A digital (scanned) copy of the Graduation Certificate for free.
· A hard copy certificate may be posted to a nominated address (domestic or international). Please note that postage fees will apply for the delivery of hard copy documents. If you require your certificate to be mailed, please ensure your contact details and mailing address are correct.
All students who wish to attend their graduation ceremony must make 2 separate payments. One for your registration fee and another for your academic gown. You can either hire or buy your gown via Regalia Craft.
Payment links will be sent to students during the registration period.
It is important to note that students are not guaranteed a place at graduation until both registration and academic gown payment have been made.

How can I request an invitation letter for my family and friends to attend?
Once graduates have paid for both their registration and academic gown for the day they can request an invitation letter to invite family or friends from overseas.
Please contact us via studentexperience@imc.edu.au for a link to request an official invitation letter.
