TESTING INFORMATION FOR FELLOWS ASSIGNED TO TEACH SECONDARY MATH

In addition to passing the Praxis Core or CBEST exam prior to the end of summer training, all Fellows assigned to teach Secondary Math are also required to pass the Praxis® Content Area exam in mathematics. This is a licensure requirement set forth by the Nevada Department of Education to ensure that individuals seeking secondary math licensure have the specialized content knowledge required.

Note: If you are not successful on your first attempt, you must wait 21 calendar days from the date you took the test in order to retake a test or subtest. Please test early to give yourself as much time as possible to pass given this waiting period!
You will have one additional Praxis exam to take at the completion of the program, but all that is required by the end of Pre-Service Training this summer is the Praxis Core/CBEST and the Math Content Area Exam (5165).
