There is a global festival known as the International Day of Mathematics (IDM). On March 14, schools, museums, libraries, and other venues around the world host events that all nations are invited to attend. Due to its widespread celebration as Pi Day (some countries write it as 3/14) and the fact that the mathematical constant Pi is about 3.14, March 14 was chosen as the date for the IDM.
With the help of many regional and worldwide organizations, the worldwide Mathematical Union spearheads the International Day of Mathematics project. The announcement was made by UNESCO during the 40th General Conference on November 26, 2019. The date of the inaugural celebration was March 14, 2020.
Each year, we introduce a theme to add flair to the festivities, encourage creativity, imagination and highlight the connections that exist between mathematics and a wide range of subjects, theories and concepts. In addition to "playing" with mathematics itself, exploring, experimenting and finding, we wish to highlight mathematical games and other enjoyable activities in 2024. Therefore, the School of Mathematical Sciences, College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics, Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia is pleased to celebrate IDM by organizing the IDM UiTM 2024 program with the theme "Playing with Math" which will take place from 7th March 2024 to 30th April 2024.
