In the depths of time, a man dwelled,
chained by immortality's spell.
For lifetimes he wandered lost, alone,
in a world where he felt he had no true home.
With each sunrise, a cruel reminder cast,
of the endless days ahead that would forever last.
He roamed with tireless strides,
and heart ached for a place where he could abide.
As he gazed at the sunset looking just past the shore,
he wished for a place his soul could wander no more.
In the depths of his drained and weary soul
layed the key to break from time's toll.
Finding the key to his release
gave him a sense of purpose and peace.
A wanderer still, but now with a newfound grace,
he escaped from the harsh cycles of earth's embrace.
And though the scars of immortality remained,
he was no longer bound, no longer chained.
