SPI (Training)-Suicide Prevention Intervention Training

This program was designed for those in the helping professions, including mental health professionals, medical care givers, and first responders, to complete two hours of continuing education credits on the topic of Suicide Prevention. The objectives of these educational modules are to:

  • expand the network of supporting individuals competent in identifying and intervening with individuals at risk of suicide

  • present a foundation of truths and facts about suicide

  • clearly identify warning signs, risk factors, and protective elements associated with suicidal ideation

  • explain and demonstrate how to respond to someone at risk for suicide

  • present best practices and opportunities associated with postvention and community building

This training is based on the State’s Gatekeeper Training and was honored as certified CEU’s by the following organizations: the Nevada Board of Social Workers, State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Professional Counselors, and the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners.
