The AI model tested during the project can automatically identify students at risk of dropping out. The model uses various factors such as age, gender, degree level, previous education, course completions, absences, and activity data (like login logs) to make its predictions.

The tool was created by TCD Consulting and Research, an IT company based in Kuopio, Finland, active since 2015, specializing in data warehousing, business intelligence solutions, and consulting. The model has been developed in cooperation with the IT faculty of the University of Jyväskylä and three educational organizations located in Finland.
