At Tiverton Academy we want the school meal experience to be an enjoyable and healthy one. Our catering team and school staff work hard to ensure that we provide good food that is not only healthy but also tasty and attractive. Each day we provide a meat and vegetarian option along with a selection of salad and a dessert option. We work extremely hard to promote the benefits of a healthy balanced diet and realise the importance of establishing healthy eating habits with our pupils. Our menus are well balanced and nutritious, offering pupils an exciting choice for each school day.
***Currently every child is entitled to a free school meal during their time in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2***
Autumn Term Example Lunch Menu (please scroll through the 3 week menu)
Please note - We do not serve halal food but there is always a vegetarian option and the menu is repeated every 3 weeks.
Packed lunches - If you would like to send your child in with a healthy packed lunch instead of a school meal please ensure that it is nut free and does not contain: fizzy pop, chocolate or sweets. If you are unsure whether your child will eat a school meal please let us know as we will always support and encourage them to try our school meals.
Please note that your child will need to bring in their own water bottle to use throughout the day. Please do not send any snacks in with your child for the school day. Every day all children will have a free fresh piece of fruit for snack.
Your child is entitled to a free carton of milk every day up until their 5th birthday. When your child turns 5, you will receive a letter from school asking if you wish to pay for milk for your child. (around £12 per term)
There is also an option of paying for your child to have toast on a half-termly basis, which they have in the morning (around £6 per term). You will receive a letter from the office about paying for toast.
