Autumn Term 2023: Week 3 22.09.23

Week 3

This week, Year 6 kicked off the week with an educational visit to Bletchley Park as part of their learning about World War 2. I know from the teachers and adults who supported the visit that they modelled the Tithe Farm Way and learnt a great deal.

We have had many new families join us since September, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you all. It has been lovely to welcome your children and see them settle in quickly and make new friends.

Please could I remind all families that when on the school site (this includes the front of the school) you should not be using your phone/camera to take photos or film. Where possible, keep phones in pockets or bags and greet your children and listen to what they tell you about their day.

Thank-you to everyone who has made a donation today for Jeans for Genes day. We will announce the total raised next week once money has been counted up.

Bletchley Park

On Monday, Year 6 visited Bletchley Park as part of the learning about World War 2.

Bletchley Park (located in Milton Keynes), was the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers and home to the Turing machine which was used to crack the Enigma Code during the war.

The children had an excellent time learning about the significant work which took place there during the war.

Extra Curricular Clubs

Clubs will begin on Monday 25th September. Your children should have brought home their letters yesterday (Thursday) detailing which clubs they have been allocated.

This term, clubs have been very heavily oversubscribed. We have now filled each club and so currently there are no spaces in any club. Each child has at least 1 club which they asked for and where possible we have kept siblings either in the same club or in clubs on the same day.

Phonics Workshop

Thank-you to all of the families who came to our phonics workshop this week.

Miss Brassinne was so pleased that so many families were able to join her to learn about how we teach your children to read.

If you were unable to attend, further information about phonics can be found on here: https://www.tithefarmprimary.co.uk/phonics-4/

Our next workshop will be held on Wednesday 22nd November @2:30pm.

Reception Play and Learn Together

Next Tuesday (26th September) Reception will be hosting a 'Play and Learn Together Session.'

So that you can see what learning is like in Reception, we will have a number of learning activities set up in the dining hall for you to support your child with.

It would be lovely to see you there is you are able to make it.

Refreshments will be available.

Big Fun Club

Big Fun Club (am & pm) are becoming increasingly full.

To ensure that you have the childcare that you need, please book your space 24 hours in advance of the session you require.

Booking for each session closes 24 hours in advance of each session. If you do not pre-book your session on parent pay there may not be space in the club for your child.

Please be aware that if a child is not booked into Big Fun Club and they are not collected from school, we will follow our uncollected child procedures which may result in a call to children's services.
