Remote Learning

Our policy for remote learning, which adheres to the guidelines set out by the Department for Education, can be found below.

Remote learning is carefully sequenced and ensures that children obtain the building blocks they need to move on to the next step. It is, therefore, important that children at home engage with the remote learning activities that are set by teachers so that they can continue their education during this period of closure. However we do acknowledge that each family’s home circumstances are unique and there may be factors that affect engagement with home learning. These may include parents working from home or limited access to technology among other factors. Communication is essential and we ask that if parents are finding things difficult to get in touch with their child’s class teacher so we can support and put measures in place.

While there are lots of websites to use with the children we would ask that all online safety measures are taken to protect your children.

We would ask that your child/children do not spend long periods of time on electronic devices but these activities are spaced out throughout the day.

Please remember:

· When children are completing work or research online that they are supervised – whether through completing the work with the children or checking the sites they have been using.

· Make sure all parental controls and security settings are in place.

· Remind your child/children of keeping themselves safe online and what to do if they are unhappy with something they see online or if they are worried about anything.

· If you are worried or have any concerns please contact us.
