Back to School Basics

School starts up again on Monday, September 4th. We look forward to seeing you back for a whole new year of reading fun. Expect some big changes in the Library -- new carpets, new books, a new layout, and some new faces to get to know.

Meet Max, Our Library Dog!

We have a new cuddly friend in our Library program area: Max, our Library Dog! Max loves cuddles, pats, and to be read books.... especially about dogs. Come down to meet Max and congratulations to Lilly, Lexi-Blue, Immy, Isla, Rosie, and Oscar for winning our Name Our Library Dog contest.

Thornhill Students in Years 3 to Year 6 have started a new reading program: Accelerated Reader. Accelerated Reader is a reading program that uses a combination of testing and levelled reading to enhance a person's literacy skills. Children are encouraged to read as much as possible through a variety of individual and class reading incentives.  To find out more about Accelerated Reader (AR), and find AR levelled books, check out our helpful web page.

Membership in a UK Public Library is free to all residents and provides members with access to a world of books and opportunities. Students and their families can join online or go to your local Library branch with ID and proof of address.
