Core courses are required to graduate. All students are required to undergo four years of language arts (4 credits), three years of math (3 credits), 2 credits of physical/health education (4 specific classes), a financial literacy course, and a computer science course. Some of these requirements can be met through concurrent enrollment, allowing a student to receive both high school and college credit simultaneously (see the Concurrent Enrollment section for more details).
While online alternatives are available for these courses, they are only utilized for certain extenuating circumstances, such as conflict with USU concurrent enrollment courses. Online students must also meet set academic standards. If students do not meet these criteria, they will be placed in direct classes as data proves students are far more successful when learning through direct instruction. All online placement must be approved by Ms. Zager.
Core offerings may change on a semester or annual basis.
