As Park embarks on its distance learning model in an attempt to flatten the curve and curb the spread of COVID-19, we want to assure you that all of us–administrators, faculty, and staff–are working to ensure that your child’s education experiences as little disruption as possible.
We all have to be prepared for the fact that distance learning will look and feel different from the work we traditionally do on campus, and we have to be okay with that, too. But we are establishing protocols for classes to ensure consistency across our program and to maintain rigor and student engagement in this new model.
Teachers will remain the primary points of contact for concerns related to individual classes. For broader questions and concerns, families can contact their respective Dean of Students or Lisa Conrad, our Interim Head of School (lconrad@theparkschool.org).
In terms of shared understandings, it’s important that we all be patient and flexible as we move forward with distance learning. There is no clear and consistent blueprint for this work, and it will certainly evolve in the coming weeks. Patience and flexibility is something we should all extend, and in all directions: to our students, our families, our colleagues, and our teachers. Park’s greatest strength is its community: our collective willingness to be partners in each child’s success is unmatched. We need to lean on that partnership and amplify it now more than ever.
