The Planet Earth (World Map)

Today we are looking at the World Map to remind ourselves of what we learned in Grade 4. Take a look at the map below. See which of the labels (A - I) you can identify. You can choose them from this Rainbow Wordbank:

Egypt, Asia, Mediterranean Sea, South America, Indian Ocean, Antarctica, South Africa, Madagascar, Atlantic Ocean

Now let us take a look at the blank world map. See how many things on the map you can remember on the map.

Try and find each of the things on the list below on the map - this should not take you longer than 5 minutes.

Pacific Ocean (point to both places it would be labeled on the map)
The Seven Continents
The Equator
Northern Hemisphere
Southern Hemisphere

Now follow the instructions on the below tutorial to make sure you know the names and locations of each of the continents and oceans.

Complete both the activity sheets for lesson 1. They will also be found on Google Classroom for those who are at home. Please complete the activies in your books. Write down the heading that is on the worksheet, and write down today's date. Remember to underline both of them. If you are at home, you will need to copy the tables and heading into your books before completing them. Remember to rule off when you are finished and to hand in your book open for marking.
