This is a full year commitment.
Offered to Students in grades 9-12. Participants pursue their self-identified areas of interest, developing their own unique Award programme of skill-building, physical activity, voluntary community service, and challenge through outdoor adventure. There are four sections: Skills, Physical Recreation, Service and Adventurous Journey.
As they work to achieve internationally recognised Award at three levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold), they build the character, skills and confidence needed to improve themselves and their communities.
Offered in cycles 2 & 3 (Girls Only)
Ejaad is a women's embroidery project that I have been a co-founder of since 2017. Ejaad provides economic and educational opportunities for women in creating traditional Afghan stitching and embroidery in a safe and inclusive environment. There are 20 women artisans from a conservative community in Afghanistan who design beautiful, traditional embroidery. Our vision is that every woman has the power to change her life for the better. It is a social enterprise that is run entirely by volunteers both in Kabul and abroad.
We would love to get students involved in this amazing service opportunity. You will be involved in helping with orders, social media, sharing our work, designing purses, and advocating for women's empowerment. I am open to your ideas too! If you are a Pushtun speaker, we need you!
Available in Cycle 2
Come be part of a challenging and rewarding experience in developing your communication and diplomacy skills to collaboratively create solutions for global issues. This is a learning conference, so all ages and experience levels are welcome. Everyone will be supported for growth through the preparation stages and during the conference.
Additional MUN opportunities may be available for students who participate in TKS MUN.
All students in G6-12 are encouraged to share their passions and lead activities for their peers.
For activities aimed at G6-12, students are asked to submit this Student Led Group Proposal form in the first instance.
For activities aimed at K1-G5, students are asked to contact the GSS Activities Office (tks.cocurricular@kaust.edu.sa) and we can put them in touch with the relevant staff member who coordinates these activities. Students can also liaise with the CAS or Service as Action coordinators at GSS.
