The Campus
The Grounds
We have access to nearly 200 acres of woodland and fields at the Austine Campus in Brattleboro, VT. Over the years our children have ensouled these spaces with their imaginations and magic, frequenting the stream, the Fallen-down Log, Grandmother Rock, the pond, rolling down the giant hill, placing and discovering fairy rocks and other treasures along the way.
The Yard
Our simple and lovely play yard offers the children loose parts to engage with in infinite ways. A sand box, playhouse, slide, and teeter-totter provide physical challenges and opportunities for imaginative and cooperative play. Flower and vegetable gardens mark the perimeters, creating an atmosphere of natural beauty and opportunities for purposeful tending.
The Classrooms
Simplicity and beauty characterize our classroom spaces. Painted using the Lazure method and colors, the classrooms use toys made from natural materials such as wool and wood, with gentle forms that invite the children to freely imagine.
