If you are graduating in the current school year and applying to college, for a scholarship, or an award you may be asked to provide a counselor letter of recommendation. Please follow these steps:
Contact your high school counselor to request a letter of recommendation.
Submit a brag sheet or resume to your counselor with any of the following applicable information:
Academic achievements
Community involvement
Leadership roles
Volunteerism, internships, and work experience
Extracurricular activities (sports, clubs, etc.)
Skills
Future goals/area of study
Allow for at least 2-3 weeks for your individualized letter of recommendation following the submission of your brag sheet or resume.
If you are applying using Common App or digital application
Invite your counselor as a "Recommender" and enter their email address
Check the box indicating you waive your right to see recommendations
Your counselor will contact you should additional information or clarification be needed.
