About the Exam - The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) is a standardized test targeting 10th and 11th graders in the US. The PSAT is used to practice for the SAT, becoming familiar with the layout and content of the SAT exam. The PSAT is a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program and determines students' eligibility for National Merit scholarships.

Test Date - The PSAT/NMSQT is offered in the Fall Semester of 10th or 11th Grade. Usually early to mid-October.
Test Centers - Blue Ridge does not offer the PSAT exam. Students will need to contact their local district or private school for a testing spot at that high school. We encourage families to contact their local schools in the Spring prior to the October Test Date.
