This semester the middle school learned about importance of water and how many people in the world do not have clean water readily available. Students were given a variety of materials and challenged to create a water filter that could remove debris and make the dirty water clear. Students used trial and error to come up with the best water filters that they could.

Jay Beaumont came in and a taught the students about groundwater. He demonstrated how water moves through the earths layers and fills our aquifers. He shared a large map of the county and talked about the different water sheds that we live in. Jay is retired from the Orange County Water Authority.
