Help your children make books using household materials with the help of our Teaching Artist, Kristen Balouch!
SUPPLIES: Paper, Ruler, Pencil, Sewing Machine - OR - Paper, Ruler, Pencil, Needle, Thread, Hammer, Brad Nails, Piece of wood to protect your surface.
STEPS:
Prepare pages to side bind use 16 pages plus a front and back cover, to center bind use 8 pages plus 1 cover.
Option 1: measure and sew - OR - Option 2: measure and mark
Hammer brad nails into the paper at half inch intervals along the side protect your surface with a piece of wood.
Pull out the nails one by one as you hand sew pages together.
Different hand sewing options are running stitch, blanket stitch, cross stitch.
