Mobile Phones

Parents/carers wishing to make contact with their child during the school day must telephone Student Services. If parents/carers want their child to bring a mobile phone into school, please ensure that it is not a “smart phone”.

Please also be aware of the following:

  • We understand that some parents/carers want their child to bring in a mobile phone to school for safety reasons. If this is the case the phone must be switched off before the student enters the school gates and must not be switched on again until the end of the school day

  • The school takes no responsibility for the mobile phones of students

  • Year 7-9 students are not permitted Smartphones in school

  • Parents/Carers wishing to contact their children during the school day must telephone the school

  • Mobile phones must be stored in a locker throughout the day. We advise that the locker is padlocked with a shackle no more than 0.5cm wide

  • If a student is seen using a mobile phone during the school day, it will be confiscated

  • Confiscated mobile phones will held securely in the Head of Year office and a reflection will be issued.

  • Incidents of bullying and harassment via phone calls, text messaging and/or voicemail will be dealt with seriously and in line with the school’s Code of Conduct. If appropriate, the school will work with external agencies in such cases

  • It is an offence for any student to take photographs, video footage or voice recordings of any member of the school community including staff, students and visitors without their prior consent. This will be dealt with seriously and in line with the school’s Code of Conduct
