TESDA Order No. 034 s. 2020 directs the establishment of TESDA Provisional Training Team as part of the network.of TVET delivery in the country which aims to reach out and serve new and more partners and clients focusing on .the transformation and improvement of lives. The Provisional Training Teams (PTTs) was created/designated and named by the Regional/ Provincial District offices without training centers through TESDA Order Nos. 644; 644-A; 677 and 687 s. 2019. Thus, the creation of the Provisional Provincial Training Center - Dinagat Islands located at P 4 R. E. Ecleo Sr, Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands.
The lot where the center is located was donated by Barangay R.E. Ecleo Sr.represented by its Punong Barangay Hon. Zacarias F. Gumamera, a parcel of land together with the buildings thereon in consideration for his desire to contribute a share for the cause of education in his barangay and for Dinagat Islands as a whole; and this donation was covered with a Deed of Donation for a 500 square meters and 200 square meters parcel of land together with all buildings and improvements found therein and that Deed of Donation was signed by Hon. Construction of the two lecture room is ongoing with the target completion date on June 2022.
In February and March 2021, the Provisional Provincial Training Center Dinagat Islands has already a full staff compliment and was able to register its Driving NC II qualification thereby qualifying it to change its name to Provincial Training Center- Dinagat Islands as was also declared
by Sec. Isidro Lapeña during his first visit to the Province of Dinagat Islands last 14 April 2021.
The Province of Dinagat Islands is blessed with Provincial leaders that look at Technical Vocational education as an important aspect of human resource development. The establishment/ operationalization of TESDA Provincial Training Center in Dinagat Island assured the people of the opportunities that TESD skills development programs can help to transform and improved their lives in the island. The Center caters to the seven municipalities that composed Dinagat Island and these are San Jose, Cagdianao, Dinagat, Libjo, Tubajon, Basilisa and Loreto. However, our goal of transforming the lives of the Dinagatnons is still on its primary stage because of the current status of the center’s facilities. The existing buildings of the center truly need improvement and the site has a weak and unstable internet signal which is a hindrance in the virtual meetings/conferences/trainings which now is the “new normal”.
