Clothing
The weather in New York City in the summertime is typically hot and humid. Temperatures typically range between 70°F - 95°F.
Pack layers! Weather in the summer can be unpredictable: rainy, hot, humid….look ahead and be prepared!
Comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring shoes that are comfortable to walk in. We will be walking around the city to and from classes and walking during the weekends for excursions.
Shower shoes or flip-flops
Rain jacket, poncho or umbrella. Most people in the city prefer a rain jacket, as we are walking around busy streets.
Exercise gear – if you are planning on working out, running etc. We do have gym access in our building with free weights, ellipticals, treadmills.
Nice outfit for the Final Night: we will be having a celebration to mark the end of the program. It’s a chance to dress-up and have some fun! Many students will wear nice dresses, skirts, slacks, button-downs, etc.
SSB does not have a formal dress code, however we ask that you dress in “neat attire”, meaning clean, not too revealing, not too short, and appropriate to meet guest speakers and go on excursions. You will be meeting professionals in your field of study, some of whom you may come across later in your career. Please dress presentably.
One business casual outfit for visits to companies or outside organizations and to wear for your final presentation. Many students where sundresses, slacks/jeans and a polo, skirts and nice top, etc.

During the program, students will retain possession of their medication. Summer Springboard defines medication as both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medication. If you have a change in medication from what you submitted on your Medical History Form upon application, please let us know by emailing nysid@summerspringboard.com.
Medications must be in the original container and labeled with the student’s name, name of medication, directions for medication administration, and the date of the prescription. Medication will be self-administered by the student during the duration of the program, as provided in the Medical Consent written authorization. When traveling with prescription medicine, be sure to pack it in your carry-on in the original bottle/pack.
