Commuter - Class Only Students*
*This includes students from YWCA and Kips Bay
Commuter - Class Only students participate in our program from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday. This includes academic classes, academic excursions and lunch.
Academic classes begin at 9:30AM each day. Students should arrive before classes begin.
On the first Monday of the program, all commuter students will meet at the New York School of Interior Design building, 170 E 70th St, New York, New York at 8:30 am. They will be greeted by the Commuter Mentor, who will guide them to the all-student orientation and their first class. Commuter - Class Only students will depart campus at 3:30pm and must check out with SSB staff each day.
*Commuter and Commuter - Class Only students will check in on the first Monday.
The program's final day for Commuter Class-Only students is the last Thursday of the session. The day includes their final class, lunch, and the opportunity to present their projects. You can expect the day to wrap up around 4:00pm.
Lunch - Commuter students will eat catered lunch with residential students at NYSID.
Must-Haves
Reusable water bottle!
Government Issued or School Issued Photo ID (Identification Card, Driver’s License, Passport)
Laptop + charger (optional). Please note that SSB is not responsible for lost or damaged laptops.
For Interior Design I & II: Architects Scale and 45-degree triangle ruler, 8"
For Photography in the City: Digital Cameras (preferred) or Smart Phone with photographing capabilities.
Kips Bay/YWCA/Decorator's Club Students: supplies will be provided for you on the first day of class.
