Commuter Students
All commuter students will check in on the first Monday of the program.
On the first Monday of the program, all commuter students will meet at the New York School of Interior Design building, 170 E 70th St, New York, New York at 8:30 am. They will be greeted by the Commuter Mentor, who will guide them to the all-student orientation and their first class.
Commuter students participate in our program from 9:30 am - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday. This includes all academic class, lunch, afternoon College Readiness Workshops, mentor groups, and activities during the week.
Academic classes begin at 9:30AM each day. Students should arrive promptly for class.
The program's final day for commuter students is the last Thursday of the session. The day includes their final class, lunch, a celebratory evening graduation, and an optional soirée to conclude the session.
Students have the option of adding in weekend excursions at the rate of $125/day. Saturday students will have a tour of the NYC area and Sunday students will go to Six Flags Great Adventure.
Lunch - commuter students will eat catered lunch with residential students at NYSID.

Reusable water bottle!
Government Issued or School Issued Photo ID (Identification Card, Driver’s License, Passport)
Money (everything is covered in tuition, but you may want to bring some spare cash for snacks or souvenirs for family and friends).
Laptop + charger (optional). Please note that SSB is not responsible for lost or damaged laptops.
For Interior Design I & II: Architects Scale and 45-degree triangle ruler, 8"
For Photography in the City: Digital Cameras (preferred) or Smart Phone with photographing capabilities.
