InTASC Standard #6: Assessment
The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making.
I use a wide variety of assessments to gage my students' abilities. From diagnostics, to formative assessments, to summative assessments, each assessment provides information which I use on daily, weekly, and monthly bases to inform my instruction. Assessments can range from quick check-ins to detailed tests, and whether they are administered one on one, whole group, or small group, their data can help me understand and react to my students' current abilities. I use the information I gather to help students and parents track their progress towards personal and grade level goals, and to inform my own instruction to make sure I am supporting my students in every way I am able.
