Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Rachel "Sky" Brown and my students call me Ms. Sky.

I currently teach Kindergarten in Columbus, Ohio, where I have a have a 5 Year Professional Early Childhood (P-3) License. I have previously taught for five years in the Greater New Orleans Area in Louisiana, where I taught Kindergarten for four years and First Grade for one year.

This portfolio was created during the 2019-2020 school year, when I was Master's Candidate at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a Master of Science in Education, focusing on Early Childhood Education. I have since completed the program and have obtained my Masters from Johns Hopkins. This portfolio focuses on my time teaching in New Orleans.

I am most interested in Early Childhood because I believe in my young students' cognitive growth abilities. I want to be an educator who helps them explore and understand the world in a way that encourages them to pursue learning for the rest of their lives. I use many different techniques to help instill this love of learning, which I will explore in great detail on this website.
