The Data Initiative for Environmental and Climate Action in California's TK–12 Schools strives to provide the most accurate data possible given the challenges of developing a new database that draws from varied sources.
All of our data comes from public sources, with the majority of our general school information and equity information coming from the CDE reports. Due to lag time in the CDE releasing data, we may not have the most current information for each district. The main sources and the current date range of data that we have access to is listed in the table below.
We hope to be transparent about our methods and welcome those working directly for and/or with each district to review their data and update any inaccuracies.

The dashboard below highlights individual school district progress across indicator categories.
To begin, select a county and then a district from the filters at the top of the dashboard. The dashboard will automatically update to display information for the selected district.
A ✅ indicates that the district has adopted or implemented the indicator, while a ❌ indicates that no public evidence could be found that the indicator has not been adopted or implemented. Hover over any ✅ or ❌ to view detailed definitions and descriptions of the corresponding indicators.

The AirTable below contains a interactive data table containing the current data collected by the Data Initiative for Environmental and Climate Action in California's TK–12 Schools. Use the search function, filters, and other interactive features to view the individual data for each of CA's public school districts or compare disctricts within counties.
