Finding & Claiming a Project

Projects

At the top navigation, click “Projects” to access all of the available videos. The “View as” icons below the search bar allow you to change from a gallery to a list view, if preferred. Additionally, you can sort all projects by “Newest,” “Oldest,” and “Due date” in the “Sort by” drop-down selection to the right.

Searching for a Project

If you’re interested in a specific project and know the name of the talk you’d like to work on,  simply enter the title or speaker name in the “Search for” box at the top-right corner of the Projects page. The best way to search for TEDx talks in CaptionHub is via the speaker's name and not the TEDx event name.

Note that linguists will only see editing assignments available in their language(s), whereas reviewers and Language Supervisors can see all editing and review assignments in their language(s).

Filters

When browsing through the available projects, feel free to use the “Filters” tab on the left-hand side of the page. Selecting filters will sort through projects and show available assignments.

Within the Filters, there are 4 criteria to sort by:

Finding a Transcription Project

Finding a Translation Project

Claiming a Project

Here, you can also toggle between the “Translations” tab and the “Original captions” tab to view the video’s transcript.

After claiming a project, you will have 30 days to finish the project. Under the "Claim expiry" column, you can see assignment deadlines. You will also receive notification reminders when you're halfway through and when nearing your deadline.

Please refrain from claiming any assignments related to original transcripts TED provides on TED-original videos (e.g. TED, TED-Ed, TED Salon, TED Institute, Featured TEDx, and Podcast).

While we ask you to refrain from claiming these transcribing projects, you’re more than welcome to claim their translation in your desired language. To confirm whether a talk belongs to this category, you can check the “Tags.”
