Getting your work published

Once you have completed your subtitles, you’ll submit your work for review. As per our workflow, your subtitles must be reviewed by qualified members of our program before it will be published to Youtube.

Please keep in mind that because this is a volunteer program based on availability and interest, there is no set timeline for how long subtitles can take to be reviewed or approved.

A great way to find volunteers who can help review your subtitles is to contact them via our TED Translator Facebook group. Post a call for help in the group, indicating that the talk is ready for review and perhaps a line or two on what the talk is about.

Users

You are also welcome to reach out to a reviewer or Language Supervisor in your language community via CaptionHub to help out with getting your subtitles published.

In the “Users” tab, you can find fellow translators in your language(s) listed as either “Linguist,” “Reviewer,” or “Language Supervisor.” Here, you can search by their display name, and sort by language communities and user roles.

Collaborators & History

You can track the user history of a project by clicking on “Show History” from the gear-box menu. Here, you can see the record of different users who worked on this project and their actions.

Messages

To send a message, click on the user’s name to go to their profile. Then, click the blue “Message user” button, and a message box will pop up. Once you hit send, an email notification with your message will be sent to the receiver, prompting them to click on your user profile and respond to your message via CaptionHub.

Note: We're currently working with CaptionHub to have messaging integrated directly into the user interface. We hope to have this feature available to you all in a future update!
