Jazz Shoes
Please see the links below to see examples of black jazz shoes for purchase. If your feet are more narrow, the lace-up can work because you can tighten the shoe around your foot. Otherwise the slip on will work well. These are not the only options, but they are examples. You must purchase jazz shoes and have them by February 3. Please read through reviews and sizing guides before purchasing.
When looking for your size on Amazon, go 2 sizes up from your street shoe size, and if you anticipate a growth spurt go 3 sizes up. For example, if you normally wear a 7, get a 9 or 10. The shoe should fit comfortably and the toes should not be squished or crunched in the front of the shoe.
Google "black jazz shoes adult" or black jazz shoes kids" to get a lot of other places to buy online. One in person store that is ia good resource is The Dance Bag on Route 17.
If, after looking at several options none are in your means, please email Ms. Butler dbutler@teaneckschools.org with your child's street shoe size.
Students must wear jazz shoes for jazz choreography, and performance of jazz pieces.
Students will learn about choreographers and their accomplishments, such as Camille A. Brown.
