We highly encourage you to move to NYC prior to Week 1 of full-time virtual Pre-service Training (Monday, June 8).
We heard feedback from corps members last year that although June 13 - June 24 is virtual, it was difficult to focus on the intense learning of Pre-service while also planning and preparing to move during that time.
For those who can, we suggest you move in and settle prior to June 13 so you can fully focus on the learning. We understand that not everyone will be able to do this.
The latest possible date you should move is Sunday, June 25 so you can be prepared for in-person/hybrid sessions that start the week of Monday, June 26 and continue through July.
As we have shared, Teach For America will not provide housing to corps members this summer. However, to support you in your search for housing that best meets your needs as you transition to New York, we are sharing some resources. If there are other resources you come across that would be helpful to your fellow corps members, please share them in the new #2023corps_housing Slack channel.
The following list has been developed for you to simplify the process of finding housing in our local area. You are responsible for researching these housing options and resources to find those that meet your needs. This list contains housing options that former and current Teach For America staff and corps members may have used or know; however, the housing options and resources in this list are not endorsed or recommended in any way by Teach For America. Teach For America has neither screened nor evaluated any of these individuals, groups or services.
Housing Opportunities and Items For Sale

Be sure to read the instructions on the first tab before filling anything in.
Our current corps members and alumni will also share new opportunities, so check back periodically over the next few weeks to see what housing opportunities become available.
