HIRING RESUME
Writing an effective resume is the crucial first step of the hiring process. The hiring team (Rachelle and our coaches) will share your TFA resume with partners, who will decide if they would like to extend you an invitation to interview at their school. Please read the instructions below carefully, and follow the guidelines, as this is the primary tool we will use to secure your interviews. Creating a strong, illustrative, and compelling resume that displays what you can bring to a school community is one of y our first steps towards finding your future placement!
To Complete:
Review the resume guidelines one-pager. Please spend time reviewing and understanding these guidelines, as they will help you complete a compelling resume.
Complete your resume using the Teach For America resume template. Do NOT directly edit or request edit access: click File -> Make a copy OR Download -> Microsoft Word (.docx). You must use this specific template, as this format enables our partners to efficiently and effectively review corps member resumes. Feel free to reference these sample TFA resumes if needed.
Have someone else review your resume. Partners have screened resumes because of typos and grammatical errors! (Feel free to ask other CMs in Slack if you'd like.)
Saved your completed resume as Lastname.Firstname.Resume.doc (ex. Kopp.Wendy.Resume.doc) as a Microsoft Word document.
Once steps 1-4 above have been completed, submit your completed resume by the deadline provided by emailing it to our server using this unique address: 2023_IC.ff0plulk486whyfe@u.box.com.
