Relay Graduate School of Education is excited to partner with Teach For America’s 2023 Corps in providing your graduate coursework, which culminates in a Master of Art in Teaching degree. Enrollment in a graduate program is both a way to improve your effectiveness as a classroom teacher and is a prerequisite for the New York Transitional B Teaching Certificate that you will be pursuing.
Applying to Relay is separate from applying to Teach For America. Your acceptance to Teach For America has no bearing on your acceptance to Relay. Therefore, it is important that you follow all directions outlined below and adhere to all deadlines. You must complete the application and all relevant action items by the deadlines listed below depending on your TFA acceptance. Failure to do so will jeopardize your status in the corps.
Only individuals who have received an email from Relay should complete the application. Admissions at Relay is on a rolling basis and we highly recommend all applicants to complete and submit your application for admissions and supplemental documentation as early as possible to avoid any disruption in coursework access. Priority deadline to submit your application is May 2, 2023. However, all applications (including materials) must be received by the final deadline June 1, 2023 - prior to the start of Teach For America Summer Training. Failure to be fully enrolled in Relay Graduate School of Education prior to the start of summer training will result in the following:
Restricted access to online coursework due for submission
Potentially receiving a failing or incomplete grade for summer coursework - leading to academic probation
Below you will find the timeline of when Relay will notify corps members to begin their application and step-by-step directions you will need to apply to Relay.
Begin the online application once you have been prompted via email by Relay (please see the Application Timeline section below for when you can expect to receive the email from Relay)
