Accidental Damage & Negligence
The District reserves the right to charge for full replacement costs of a device and/or accessory for devices or accessories damaged due to negligence or repeated incidents
All families must acknowledge the KUSD Student Technology Acceptable Use Policy 6633 each year
Devices are for educational use. Misuse, neglect, or damage may lead to repair or replacement fees
Students must
Keep their device in good condition
Use only their @students.kusd.edu account
Never change hardware or software settings
Bring the device to school fully charged each day
Examples Include
Lost or destroyed devices
Cracked screens
Missing keys
Liquid damage
Weather exposure (rain, snow, heat)
Any obvious neglect or misuse
Note: Manufacturer defects are covered under warranty and not subject to fees

🛠️ If a Device Is Damaged or Lost
Report damage or loss to a teacher or staff member right away
A HelpDesk ticket will be submitted and the building tech will inspect the device
If damage is found, an invoice may be created and fees may apply based on the situation
Lost devices may require admin approval before a replacement is issued
Fees are tracked in Infinite Campus and must be paid to the school office

Return the device when requested in working and undamaged condition
If a fee is required, your school will notify your family and explain how to pay
