Chalk Writing
Draw a rocket (big rectangle with a triangle on top with big lines coming out the bottom for the blast). Then write the #’s counting backwards from 10 to 0 across the top so your rocket is ready to blast off.
Hop on each number as you count backwards making your rocket blast off.
I Spy a Shape-
Play I spy a shape game. Find something that is a certain shape & see if someone can guess what you are thinking about. (Ex. I spy a circle. -you are spying a clock.)
Count Backwards
Pretend you are a rocket getting ready to blast off. Count backwards from 10 to 0! Race around like a rocket when you blast off! Then see if you can count backwards from 20! Use a number helper if you need.

Positional Words
Use positional words-on/off; over/under; top/middle/bottom to have your child move an object(s) to fit the positional word.
Ex: Hold a ball OVER your head, put it ON the table, put it UNDER the chair...

See & Spray/Find Letters
Parent writes the whole alphabet out on the driveway with chalk in random order all over- not in a line. Parent shouts out a letter, child runs to the letter & sprays it with a water gun. OR if you want to keep the letters to use again they can just run to the letter & shout it out! Link to See & spray directions/pictures
Wet, Dry, Try
Parent writes a letter (capital or lowercase) with chalk- showing your child how you form it.. Then child traces it with a WET paint brush dipped in water. Then use a paper towel to trace it again- DRY. And finally they TRY to write it with chalk.
If your child is good at capitals focus on lowercase.
Every Letter Makes a Sound
Child walks around the house and identifies an object. Write the beginning letter of that object on a sticky note or same size paper. Repeat with various objects/letters. When finished staple papers together to make a letter book
Q-Tip Letter Writing
Parent-Write out all the capital letters on 1 piece of paper. Have your child trace each letter with a q-tip dipped in paint. Be sure your child is starting at the top & forming it correctly.
Gravity Drop
Choose 5 random, small objects such as: a crayon, balloon, pompom, crumpled up paper, & stuffed animal. Child holds object at shoulder height, and drops it to the floor. Ask child, “What happened when you let go of it.” Try it again w/ another object. “Did the same thing happen?” “Which item fell quickly? Slowly? What goes up, must come down. (New vocab word: Gravity). Repeat activity if desire
🌞Day & Night🌙
Draw a vertical line down a piece of paper. Have your child write DAY on the top of one side & NIGHT on the top of the other. Then draw something they do during the day & something they do at night. Discuss the difference between the 2
How Planets Orbit the Sun
Materials: pie tin, yellow & blue playdough. Roll the yellow playdough into a ball & press down in the center of the pie tin. Roll the blue playdough into a ball to form the earth. Show child how to hold the pie tin to make the earth orbit around the sun.
The Solar System Song
Sing the solar system song. How many planets are there?
Which planet is the largest?
Which planet is the rocky, red planet? Ask questions about the planets.
Hand Washing Science
Gather bowl of water, pepper, dish soap. Sprinkle pepper (pretend this is germs) in bowl of water. Use pointer finger to dip in bowl. Oh no! The germs are on your finger! Now dip finger in dish soap and then in bowl. The soap made the germs go away. ALWAYS USE SOAP TO WASH HANDS!
My Space Book
Gather 3 pieces of white paper. Make a title page: My Space Book. Draw a picture of the following: earth, sun, moon, star, planets, and rocket. Color your drawings and label with the correct word.

Draw a picture of your mom. Write:
I LOVE YOU MOM!
⭐Twinkle Twinkle Little Star⭐
Sing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” Practice making a star step by step using the tutorial on youtube. Use pencil on paper, crayon on black paper, or a black marker on a white board as the tutorial shows.
Constellation Project
You will need mini marshmallows.Toothpicks were provided in your packet. Create the big dipper out of the marshmallows & toothpicks. See directions below.
Coffee Filter Earth
Have your child draw & color in 2 or 3 continents in green marker on the coffee filter. Then have them color the rest of the coffee filter blue for the oceans. As they are doing this you could review the continents & oceans songs from the previous weeks. When they are done spray the coffee filter with water & watch the magic happen!
