Number Tower

Using foam or plastic cups, write one number on each cup until you have 20 total. Mix up cups. Build a tower beginning w/ #1 and ending w/ #20. Remove cups and put them in order to make a number line.

Make a boat out of aluminum foil. Add pennies to your boat. How many pennies can your boat hold without sinking? Make a second boat. Make it into a different shape. Predict which boat will hold more pennies? Test it out. Talk about sink/float.

Nature Walk

Go on a nature walk. Bring a bag to collect grass, seeds, rocks, weeds, flowers, leaves, etc. Talk about spring and the changes you notice outside. What are the seasons? Which season is your favorite. Make a collage out of the treasures you found.

Washing Hands Experiment

Need: Three slices of bread. #1 untouched slice #2 touched with dirty hands #3 touched after washing hands with soap & water for 20 seconds. Put each slice in a zip locked bag & label. Observe over the next 2-3 days. A great visual to teach about germs.
