Week One
Number/counting- writing 5 & making 5 (I say down the street, around the corner, oops he forgot his hat when I am writing the number- say this to your child & they will know what it means)
have your child try to write the #5 either on paper/ dry erase/chalkboard./etc.
count to 30 punching for each # (works on 1 to 1 correspondence "saying the number as you do the movement")
count out 10 cheerios (anything they can eat)- then have them say “ if I have 10 and I eat 2 how many are left?” Keep going till there isn't any left.

have your child try to write the #5 in shaving cream on a surface. Once they have mastered the #5 have them write other #'s or letters.
count to 30 putting arms up on #1 & down to sides for #2 then back up for 3 and so on (pattern Up/down) (works on 1 to 1 correspondence "saying the number as you do the movement")

Verse of the week- Matthew 5:16-In the Same way let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven. (you say a small portion/they repeat/ continue for whole verse)

Letter/ABC's-Reviewing this week- Tt- practice turning your head while saying the /t/ sound

Say ABC's (not sing) saying in a pattern A- say it loud/ B- say it softly/ C-loud/ so on...
Letter Monster- Have your child write the letter Tt on 10 different strips/cards of paper. Then parent/big brother/etc. hides those cards around the house (be sure to put them where your child can see them a little). Your child goes around & tries to find all 10 cards. Then he/she tells you the letter & sound while doing the action (turning head)& possibly a word for the letter Tt.
Letter/ABC's- Reviewing this week-Uu- practice opening up an umbrella when saying the /u/ sound.
Have your child try to think of things that start with Uu.
Draw a picture of something that starts with Uu & write Uu on your page or write the word.

think of other ways to have your child match capital/ lowercase letters.
-See black cut-out person in packet (labeled with Monday)- Skeleton project. Draw skeleton on Black cutout of person. 1-skull with eye sockets, nose/mouth opening 2-pelvic bone, 3-spine with vertebrae, 4-ribs, then add arms and legs and fingers and toes. (see picture below) Discuss with your child each part & how it is used/needed in your body
-Sing Head shoulders, knees, & toes but substitute words like skull, ribs, pelvic bone, etc.

Spinal Cord Project
-use a 1/2 pipe cleaner to create a small loop at the top (represents spinal cord)
-put on a bead (represents vertebrae-talk about what a vertebrae is)
- then tie a knot with string (nerve ending) -teach them how to make an x & then pull 1 side through
- repeat bead/string till it's full
-discuss what your spinal cord does for you.
