Week Six
Clap & count
Parent claps slowly X amount of times & child puts up that many fingers.Clap anywhere from 1-10 times. Child tries to quietly count the claps.
Shape Search
Child looks for shapes in the house. Draw shape on paper or in a tray with salt. Repeat with various shapes: circle, square, rectangle, square, hexagon, etc.
Draw a Clock Face
Child draws a large circle. Write numbers on the clock. (Hint:easiest for child to fill in 12,6,9,3 first.) Then fill in missing numbers beginning at #1. Child begins at 1 and continues counting to 12 while touching each number. Look for clocks in your house. Count the numbers on the clock. What does a clock measure? Time!
Ten Frames
Use ten frames & small objects to practice numbers. Parent shows a number between 0-20. Child puts objects in ten frame(s) to illustrate the number. Child then touches each object while counting to double check their answer.

Moon Rock Fun!
Make moon rocks by taking 3 sheets of tin foil and forming 3 balls (moon rocks). Try to throw your moon rocks into a “crater” on the moon! Use a bowl or pan to be the crater.
Fun w/ Textures
How does it feel when you touch it? Child or parent gathers different items or walks around in the house. Describe items using words like...smooth, rough, bumpy, sticky...((e.g. stuffed animal, spaghetti, table, rug, pillow, zipper)

Make a Model of the Moon
Need: 1 C flour,
¼ C salt,
1 tsp oil, ¼ C water
Do: Mix ingredients. Form into moon (ball). Press marbles or small things into it to form craters on your moon.
Draw Your Favorite Planet
Child draws their favorite planet and tells parent one or two facts about it.
Write the name of the planet below your picture. Listen to this song for facts about planets.
Crescent Moon Project
Draw big crescent on ½ sheet of yellow paper. Cut out. Glue to Black full sheet. Add stars with white crayon.

Make Your Own Telescope
Roll a piece of paper over a cardboard tube. (paper towel tube or toilet paper tubes taped together). Attach w/ rubber bands. Decorate telescope.Pull the tube to make your telescope longer.Telescopes are great for watching birds, or looking for stars, airplanes or satellites. What do you see?

Copy sun pg on yellow or color yellow w/crayons. Cut out sun and triangle rays. Glue sun in center of construction paper. Space and glue triangle rays around sun.
Name Rocket
Child writes each letter of their name on squares of paper, glue the letters in order on paper,and decorate it to look like a rocket.
