The SHHS JROTC Drill Team is a marching unit that performs routines based on military drill. Cadets can perform either armed drill during competitive drill competitions. The competitive Color Guard is an extracurricular Army JROTC team responsible for presenting the flag in a variety of settings. The members of the Color Guard practice drill and ceremonies, proper wearing of the uniform as well as the proper ways to show respect to our nation's flag. Competitive seasons are Dec-March.

SFC Isaac McMillan is the Armed Drill Team Coach. Any enrolled South Hills JROTC Cadet wanting to be apart of the Armed Drill Team, please see any JROTC instructor for addition info and guidance.

Practice times are Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Participating Cadets will be informed of cancelled practices or changes.

Regulation Drill (RD): Every movement is strictly guided by one of the three service drill and ceremonies manuals. Called Precision Drill in parts of the world. Below is an example of the Armed Drill sequence.

Exhibition Drill (XD): routines are limited by your imagination. Also called Fancy Drill in parts of the US. The term Freestyle Drill might be the best description.
