The standard definition normally applied to the term “athlete” is an individual who competes in one or more sports that involves physical strength, speed, or endurance; however, at McLean Middle School (MMS), we believe an athlete is so much more than this. An athlete is an individual who is willing to work hard by giving all of their effort to be the best version of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. An MMS athlete understands that they will encounter obstacles, but their response to these challenges delivers a unique opportunity to improve their entire being.
