Welcome back Como Lion students and families! My name is Mr. Thomas E. Mayfield Jr., and I am 5th Grade Math Teacher at the Leadership Academy at Como Elementary School. I am approaching my 13th year in education, and I have had the opportunity to have held various classroom and leadership positions throughout my tenure. I enjoy teaching and building meaningful relationships with my awesome students through incorporating music and social bonding events!

Mr. Vinson

Greetings and welcome back, 5th Graders! My name is Mr. Vinson and I am the 5^th Grade Reading Teacher at the Leadership Academy at Como Elementary. This will be my 14^th year in education, and I am truly excited to embark on this learning experience with you all this year. I enjoy poetry, graphic design, and music production. I am a huge advocate for culturally responsive teaching through the arts and have developed a unique style of teaching called Hip-Hop Integration. We have an exciting and invigorating year ahead of us. While we will face many challenges throughout the year, I firmly believe that with perseverance and a positive attitude, we will be able to accomplish anything we set our minds to achieve. We are in this together!
