Teachers have a lot to do. But you never think about how much they actually do. They teach kids tons of things! They teach kids what they need to learn for later in life. Imagine teaching more than 30 kids a day about math, science, social studies, and so many subjects. Now, let's take a look at the day of one specific teacher. Rebecca Lambeth. Lambeth has been a teacher for 21 years. She has moved to many different schools in her time as a teacher, and she is still teaching students to this day. When asked what her life usually looks like in her life as a teacher, Rebecca answered “I teach 8 multilingual students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. For some students, I go to their regular classroom and support them with their class work. For others, I teach in my office and we work on English language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.”
Rebecca has a lot to do, that's for sure. Teaching kindergarten through 5th grade must be a lot of work. “I love my job because I get to work with students from various backgrounds. I also get to work with students for several years. If they are new to this country, I get to help them with their transition to a new school, city, state, culture, etc.” States Rebecca. So while it can be a lot of work, for Rebecca it can be very rewarding at the end of the day, knowing that she helps teach kids the things they need to know.
